Create a cost-effective storage facility at the existing depot in Derby
The facility needed to store 5,000 tonnes of salt, doubling the capacity that could previously be stored externally at Stores Road. In common with local authorities across Britain, Derby City Council was seeking to keep its motorists moving during poor weather. Recent harsh winters have forced many Councils to reappraise the way they store and handle their gritting salt – seeking to maximise efficiency whilst also reducing long term running costs.
