De Boer to provide temporary theatre for 2 years

De Boer Netherlands has been contracted by the county of Haarlemmermeer and theatre "De Meerse" to provide a temporary theater for a period of 2 years, while the current theatre undergoes renovation.It will be the first temporary theatre ever in the Netherlands, and De Boer will commence construction at the end of 2007. Early next year the temporary theatre will open its doors for a period of 2 years.
In total, 1600 square metres will be built. The construction is a combination of Emperor, All Weather Hall and Alu hall. Half of the area is designated to the actual theatre. Approximately 200 m2 is needed for the dressing rooms and tecnhical rooms. The remaining 600m2 is designated as foyer, spread over two floors. The temporary "de Meerse" has room for 500 seats, the same number as the permanent theatre currently has .
