Every era has its own way of constructing buildings for the most spectacular occasions. The unparalleled Millennium Structure is such a spectacular building. A dome measuring 51 metres across!
The leading builders of their time created spaces in which people could participate in the great cultural highlights of the day - from the amphitheatres of antiquity to the opera houses of the baroque period, right down to today's modern stadiums. All have been variations on a single theme: that of the circle.
When it comes to generating the most intense human contact, the large circle beats all other shapes. Whether for a plenum or a special event, for a conference or a presentation, the circle is still the very best way to bring people together or to bring them as close as possible to an event. In a circular space everybody can see everything, hear everything, and understand everything. Nobody ends up on the margins because they are too far away from the action.
Getting Closer Together
With the Millennium Structure, De Boer has developed a new multifunctional circular arena, which is ideally suited to meet the growing demands for special events of all varieties. An area for a new age. With a diameter of 51 metres, it tears up the previously accepted rulebook, in time for the Millennium. No other special events space of this kind has the same flexibility and adaptability: dining for 3000, showcase presentation, conferences, top class parties and much, much more.
With a height at the sides of 6,4 metres and roof apex 20 metres in height, the structure is already an impressive spectacle from a far. Its trademark is its roof, highly visible at a distance, with light- proof tensile fabric allowing the lighting effects inside the structure to depend not on the vagaries of the sun, but on the design of the event organisers. In fact, to create the right lighting environment, the roof structure is capable of bearing up to two tonnes of heavy equipment - an outstanding technical achievement.
Always the Right Light
For those who value a bright ambience flooded by natural sunlight. De Boer offers the option of side walls made of glass. All can look in, look through, or look around more effectively. Multi- faceted, the Millennium Structure is reminiscent of a 19th century glass palace.
And for those who require more, there's a circular viewing balcony, which can be raised to a height of 3, 5 metres. From here there is an unimpeded view down to the parquet floor which, with a loadbearing capacity of 500 kg/m², can stand the most critical view! However, the Millennium Structure is also shamelessly seductive without its floor in position and gives extra flexibility for example for cars and product presentations, VIP events and other large gatherings.
Up to 4000 people can be seated within the Millennium Structure. Despite its possibly record breaking size, its allure is due to the fact that although it is such a large round space you feel comfortable and in touch inside such a small circle.
