De Boer, world leader in the supply of temporary structures, has provided a wide range of facilities to one of Europe’s largest boat shows - the PSP Southampton Boat Show

Long-standing relationship
De Boer’s long-standing relationship with the popular show is now in its 17th year with the company supplying structures to organisers and exhibitors at the ten-day event which attracts more than 125,000 to the Mayflower Park location in Southampton from September 11 to September 20.

Over 500 exhibitors
With over 500 exhibitors and more than 1,000 boats on display, the 2009 PSP Southampton Boat Show was expected to generate millions of pounds for the UK economy with visitors able to view – and purchase – vessels of all shapes and sizes from multi-million pound super yachts to single-sail dinghies.

Highlight of the Show
Highlight of this year’s event was record-breaking yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur who sailed into the marina on the opening morning of the show en route to completing a four-month-long and 2,000 nautical miles voyage around the British Isles. Dame Ellen’s yacht, ‘Scarlet Oyster’, was crewed by young people recovering from cancer and leukaemia.

Excellent relationship
John Cochrane, Sales Director – Events for Brackley-based De Boer, said: “Once again the organisers of the PSP Southampton Boat Show have put on a stunning event for sailing enthusiasts and we are delighted to be part of such a successful show.”

Range of temporary structures
National Boat Shows’ Director of Operation Murray Ellis said: “National Boat Shows are pleased to continue working with De Boer to provide a range of structures required to meet the demands and continued success of the PSP Southampton Boat Show.”

Multi-functional accommodation
De Boer supplied three Jumbo structures for three temporary exhibition halls covering 8,300 square metres – creating the Ocean, Windward and Solent Exhibition Halls and four Acropolis structures provide a brand new Main Entrance to the Show.

Hospitality facilities
The Show hosted a purpose built Marina to accommodate over 300 boats and the company also provided a host of chalets across the location including on the marina to provide hospitality facilities for exhibitors.
