Delta Vista to create stunning hospitality venue at Wimbledon
18 May 2011
De Boer’s exciting Delta Vista structure will make its UK debut as a hospitality structure next month when it offers a great new look for the award-winning Gatsby Club at The Championships, Wimbledon. Innovations and improvements
Each year creative event specialist Detail Management Services seeks to introduce new innovations and improvements to the popular venue for its client Keith Prowse. The top-class hospitality facility, set in lavish surroundings close to the action, has always been a smash hit with tennis fans.
Panoramic views
Detail hopes the new contemporary styled version of The Gatsby Club, created within De Boer’s new Delta Vista structure with panoramic views through bold, horizontal glass panels, will provide a brighter and enhanced experience for guests.
Huge glass wall
Jim Mason, Detail’s Managing Director, said: “The new Gatsby Club is specifically designed to work with the high structure with the huge glass wall running along its entire length and the season dictates this will flood light into the space and feel like an extension of outside. The scale of the space set against the natural backdrop gives it a power that is further enhanced by an enormous suspended feature floating above the main dining area which is an icon of the clean contemporary styling within.
Strong architectural shapes
“Whilst the ethos of the design is long clean lines, strong architectural shapes and high-spec finishes, this uniformity is set in contrast against the softness and flow of huge semi-transparent fabric drops, catching the natural light and diffusing it through the more intimate dining spaces. Big ribbons of natural colour randomly stretch across the glass façade, intersecting and overlapping to create soft light colour hues that further connect the space with the natural environment outside.”
Main hospitality facility
De Boer’s striking modular Delta Vista will form the main hospitality facility complete with kitchen, office and staff areas. The Gatsby Club is located on the cricket ground immediately adjacent to the famous All England Lawn Tennis Club and close to the players’ practice courts.
Elevated terrace
De Boer also provides 80 square metres of elevated terrace alongside the main structure, with decking designed by Detail, allowing guests superb views of the star players warming up before their matches at the championships staged from June 20 to July 3, 2011.
Suitable for multiple uses
John Cochrane, De Boer Sales Director – Events, said: “De Boer has a long-standing relationship with Detail whose creative team is always striving to improve the customer experience. The Delta Vista is an incredibly flexible facility with outstanding natural lighting and is suitable for multiple uses. It is a marvelous addition to our product range and such a prestigious sporting event as the The Championships, Wimbledon is a fantastic showcase for the Delta Vista.”
