De Boer has provided facilities for a charity event which raised more than £100,000 to support the relatives of soldiers killed or injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hospitality pavilion
Support Our Paras – an organisation assisting the relatives of those in the Parachute Regiment – held an air display at Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury at the end of May. De Boer provided a single-storey hospitality pavilion allowing organisers the opportunity to attract high-profile sponsors and large crowds.

Air display thrilled crowds
Two World War II Spitfires, a parachute drop by the Red Devils and the Army’s helicopter display team the Blue Eagles thrilled the crowds with a marvellous air display. On the ground a drive-past of historic Aston Martins and Bentleys proved equally popular.

£110,000 raised for Support Our Paras
Thousands of pounds were raised by a charity auction to add to the many donations and income generated by entrance fees. In total the event is expected to have generated more than £110,000 for Support Our Paras whose Patron is the former head of the British Army, General Sir Mike Jackson.

Worthwhile cause
John Cochrane, De Boer Sales Director – Events, said: “This was a wonderful event for a very worthwhile cause. Seeing everyone come together in support of those affected by the conflicts, and those still fighting thousands of miles away to secure free and democratic rule, was both emotional and touching.”

Outstanding facility
Support Our Paras Project Director Tony Higham said: “De Boer has been a long-standing and generous supporter of the British military and once again played a vital role in ‘Supporting our Paras’. The outstanding chalet provided brought universal praise and made a huge contribution to the ambience of the day – helping to generate the very considerable sum raised and, most importantly, preparing the way with corporate clients for future similar events.”
