De Boer provides hospitality accommodation at Epsom Derby
5 June 2007
While millions of armchair TV viewers watched Frankie Dettori’s delirious celebrations after clinching the most coveted prize in horseracing, guests in a hospitality facility created by De Boer at Epsom had a spectacular view as the world’s top jockey flashed past the Winning Post aboard Authorized. Stunning hospitality venue
De Boer constructed a stunning hospitality venue for corporate entertainment at Epsom Downs Racecourse for the two-day Derby meeting, sponsored by Vodafone, in a 15 metre x 45 metre Alu Hall with viewing terrace positioned alongside the track just yards from the finishing line.
Prestigious temporary facility
Appropriately called ‘The Winning Post’, the prestigious facility provided the perfect vantage point for hundreds of race goers to have an unrivalled view as Frankie finally ended his 14-year quest to win the Epsom Derby which triggered amazing scenes of celebration.
Star performer
More than 100,000 people poured on to Epsom Downs to witness Frankie’s big day which cost bookmakers £50 million as the nation ploughed their money on to the star of the horseracing world.
Corporate entertainment structure
De Boer’s Commercial Sales Director Robert Alvarez said: “This is our second year at the Derby and our structure undoubtedly enhances the standards of corporate entertainment. This year’s structure is bigger than last and we hope to continue working with our client, Executive Club, to provide even more in 2008.”
Raising the Alu Hall
The famous hill at Epsom Downs Racecourse means that De Boer’s team has to tackle a 0.8 metre drop along the length of the Alu Hall. Half of the structure is cleverly raised using scaffolding to provide a fantastic and level view.
Supplier to horseracing events
The Brackley-based company already has a well-established reputation at major horseracing events. This summer De Boer is once again providing a wide range of temporary structures for the ‘Glorious Goodwood’ racing festival. Meanwhile when Britain’s newest track Great Leighs racecourse near Chelmsford, Essex, opens later this year, it will be dominated by De Boer’s innovative and award-winning double-deck Emperor hospitality facility.
