De Boer’s key role at European Football Championships
10 February 2012
De Boer Structures has been appointed to supply hospitality and VIP facilities to the 2012 European Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine. International offices
The company’s international offices will provide around 30,000 square metres of structures at all four locations in Ukraine – Kiev, Kharkiv, Lviv and Donetsk – and at Poznan in Poland, one of the four Polish cities which will be staging matches.
A-frame stuctures and Pyramids
The large A-frame structures and smaller Pyramids will be situated around a terrace area forming hospitality villages at each location. The hospitality model is based on a successful format used by De Boer at the PGA’s KLM Dutch Open Golf Championships in 2011 (pictured above).
Total solution provider
As well as the hospitality units, De Boer will reinforce its reputation as a total solution provider by supplying additional facilities including catering areas, toilets, carpets and wooden terrace tiles, linings and cabling. More than 130 truckloads of equipment will be shipped into Poland and Ukraine from De Boer’s European bases in Germany, Holland and Belgium.
Facility supplier
The 2012 tournament, which starts on June 8th with the final in Kiev on July 1st, marks the latest in a series of European Football Championships for which De Boer has been called upon to supply facilities. The company provided structures for European Football Championships in The Netherlands and Belgium in 2000 following up with Portugal in 2004 and Austria and Switzerland in 2008. De Boer also supplied facilities to the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Global sporting events
Francis Scholten, De Boer’s Account Manager responsible for the European Football Championships project, said: “De Boer has a proud tradition of supplying structures to global sporting events including major international football tournaments and leading golf events such as the Ryder Cup. This is a major project for De Boer with our crews starting building on May 7th and finally dismantling all equipment by July 22.”
Close working relationships
Francis added: “De Boer prides itself on its close working relationship with clients as well as its reputation for supplying innovative solutions to the sporting world’s largest and most complex assignments.”
Fixture lists
England will play all their Group D matches in Ukraine. Their matches with Ukraine and France are in Donetsk while they meet Sweden in Kiev. Republic of Ireland will play two of their Group C matches against Croatia and Italy in Poznan.
