De Boer took pride of place in front of Buckingham Palace as it created facilities for the world’s media covering the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Walkway structures
The key role saw the company providing bespoke covered Walkway structures specifically for the big day – with products created especially for the event. The structures had the unique De Boer curve in a dark green colour.

Journalists from across the world
The assignment was tackled for client BSkyB, which then shared the facilities with journalists and film crews from across the globe.

Rigid time schedules
The tight time schedules surrounding the royal wedding meant that De Boer needed to carry out the bulk of the construction work in one day a week before the event. Dismantling of the structures took place two days after the wedding.

Overseeing the project
De Boer Sales Manager David Tunnicliffe, who oversaw the project on behalf of the company, said: “It was great to be part of what for many people will have been the biggest event of the year. It was estimated that between two and three billion people watched the wedding around the world, so De Boer played its part in ensuring pictures of the happy couple could be beamed around the globe.”

Meeting clients' wishes
David added: “De Boer has established a tradition of creating or adapting its structures to meet the specific wishes of clients. The creation of curved, green Walkway structures for the royal wedding was just the latest example of our focus on our clients – and providing facilities for the very biggest events.”

Bespoke services
Previous bespoke services provided by De Boer have included the creation of the huge Pink Galaxy structure – in the vivid pink corporate colour of long-time charity client Walk the Walk – and special adaptations to its Delta System and A-frame products to enable the Royal Horticultural Society to use a huge, single exhibition space each year for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
