About De Boer/News
De Boer is music to the ears for concerts
30 June 2010
De Boer is in the midst of one of its busiest summers after the company provided a number of structures to the Isle of Wight Festival and to high-profile concerts in London’s Hyde Park. Number of temporary structures
In London, the temporary structure specialist transported a number of its A-frames, chalets and pyramid structures in preparation for this year’s Hard Rock Calling and Wireless festivals. The company also provided its services to the sell-out Kings of Leon concert.
Biggest names in music
The royal park played host to some of the biggest names in rock and pop with acts including Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder and Sir Paul McCartney gracing the stage at Hard Rock Calling. P!nk, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z will be headlining this year’s Wireless festival taking place on 2-4 July.
Temporary facilities
De Boer’s structures will be used for a number of facilities including hospitality suites, production offices, merchandising outlets, media centre, winners’ café, crew facilities, first-aid tent and bar areas.
Back-to-back events
With back-to-back concerts at the royal park, De Boer was kept busy with Hard Rock Calling on 25-27 June and Kings of Leon performing on 30 June.
Long-standing client
The contracts further strengthened the relationship between Brackley-based De Boer and its long-standing client, leading concert producer Live Nation.
Detailed preparations
Kate Morrison, Key Accounts Manager at De Boer, said: “We have an excellent working relationship with Live Nation and our preparations start well in advance to overcome some of the logistical challenges posed at Hyde Park.”
VIP hospitality facility
De Boer has also created a stunning VIP hospitality facility for Absolute Radio for the hundreds of celebrities and high-profile guests to the Isle of Wight Festival. An elevated 240 square metre Alu Hall complete with glazing, sliding doors and a terrace around the structure provided excellent views of the main stage.
Isle of Wight Festival
Toby Bennett, Sales Manager at De Boer, said: “The Isle of Wight Festival is one of the most popular events in the music calendar. We have worked with our client for many years now and we were delighted to be providing a VIP suite to some of the world’s greatest musicians.”
Popular acts
De Boer is a regular at the festival, which took place from 11-13 June, and featured band and acts including Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris, The Strokes, Blondie and Spandau Ballet to name but a few.
