Airshow’s new structure puts De Boer in the ‘Premier’ league
26 April 2010
Visitors to this summer’s Farnborough International Airshow are to get the UK’s first-ever glimpse of the latest generation of temporary structures – De Boer’s stunningly versatile ‘Premier’. Outstanding flexibility
The new double-decker product offers outstanding flexibility for users, with the ability to add modular sections up to a total width of 20 metres and a potentially unlimited length. Other features include transparent side panels, a choice of internal or external staircases plus optional balconies with tinted glass “fencing” to allow unobstructed views.
Multifunctional Premier
But one of the most innovative elements of the multifunctional Premier is the ability to place a range of De Boer’s other structures on top – offering an unprecedented choice of configurations for users.
Versatile new structure
The new product can be combined with a large number of different structures, ranging from compact Pyramids and Chalets to De Boer’s Alu Halls and Alu Vista. The versatility of the Premier means that no fewer than four of the structures have already been reserved for use during the Farnborough International Airshow.
Developing innovative new products
Peter Spruce, Managing Director of De Boer Structures (UK) Ltd, said: “One of De Boer’s many strengths is its commitment to researching and developing innovative new products, even in the face of the current challenging economic market.
Highly popular
“The Premier is a further exciting addition to our event and exhibition product portfolio, offering tremendous versatility and choice for customers. The early interest from the Farnborough International Airshow suggests this is going to be another highly popular structure.”
Part of the 'Vista' range
The Premier, which is erected in modules measuring five metres by five metres, will form part of De Boer’s ‘Vista’ range of structures, each of which features bold, horizontal panoramic panels. The range already includes highly popular products such as De Boer’s Emperor, Panorama Dome and Delta Emperor.
Farnborough International Airshow
The new structure’s appearance at Farnborough will further boost Brackley-based De Boer’s work at the prestigious biennial event. Construction work is already well under way to create a huge temporary exhibition venue measuring 90,000 square metres – enough space to accommodate London’s mighty Royal Albert Hall no fewer than 30 times!
Detailed planning
The assignment – involving deliveries by more than 200 articulated lorries – will ultimately create four huge exhibition halls together with a vast array of corporate hospitality suites, business chalets, public dining areas and a media centre for the 2010 airshow, which takes place between July 19 and 25.
Iconic aviation events
Farnborough International Airshow is one of the world's most iconic aviation events. The first five days of the show are traditionally trade days only, followed by a weekend where the exhibition is opened to the public. FIA 2008 was a record-breaking year for business with US$88.7 billion worth of orders announced during the show which also featured 165 aircraft in static displays and spectacular flying displays. The public weekend attracted a staggering 153,000 visitors.
